A Full Day Celebrating the Grand Egyptian Museum
As part of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture’s celebrations marking the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum and the launch of the “Al-omr Leena” initiative during Museums Month, the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome opened its doors to large numbers of Italian and European visitors. The event was led by Professor Dr. Rania Yehia, Director of the Academy, in collaboration with the Italian FAI Foundation.
FAI Guides Introduce Visitors to Ancient Egyptian Civilization
Throughout the full-day program, the FAI Foundation provided trained tour guides who introduced attendees to the depth of ancient Egyptian civilization and the significance of the Grand Egyptian Museum’s inauguration. Visitors toured the replica Tutankhamun Museum housed inside the Academy, where guides explained key elements of the collection and encouraged audiences to visit Egypt to experience the world’s largest archaeological museum firsthand.
Showcasing Nearly a Century of Cultural Presence in Rome
The event also highlighted the long history of the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome, which is nearing a century of cultural and artistic activity at the heart of the Italian capital. The collaboration with FAI helped spotlight the Academy’s role as a bridge between Egyptian heritage and European audiences.
More Than 1,500 Visitors Attend the Event
Thanks to the careful organization by volunteers from the FAI Foundation, attendance exceeded 1,500 visitors. Guests expressed strong interest in the Academy’s exhibitions and the broader narrative surrounding Egypt’s ancient heritage.
Appreciation for FAI’s Cultural Contribution
At the close of the event, Professor Dr. Rania Yehia extended her sincere gratitude to the FAI Foundation and its team. She presented a certificate of appreciation to the Foundation’s Director in recognition of her role in supporting the event and promoting Egypt’s rich historical legacy.
