Abdel Rahim Ali said Gulf security is inseparable from Egypt’s national security, emphasizing that Cairo views stability in the Gulf as a core strategic priority.
Ali stated that Gulf security directly impacts Egypt’s broader national interests, noting that Cairo has consistently supported Gulf states during periods of crisis. He added that Egypt formed an operations framework early in the conflict to monitor developments and respond accordingly.
He stressed that Egypt’s position is rooted in the idea of shared destiny among Arab nations.
Ali explained that Gulf security is closely tied to economic, political, and military considerations, including energy markets, regional alliances, and defense coordination. He highlighted Egypt’s role in facilitating de-escalation between the United States and Iran as part of this broader strategy.
He also emphasized that strong ties with Gulf countries, particularly the UAE, enhance Egypt’s ability to influence regional outcomes.
The Gulf region plays a critical role in global energy supply and regional geopolitics. Stability in this area is essential not only for local actors but also for international markets and security frameworks.
Ali concluded that safeguarding Gulf security is a fundamental component of Egypt’s strategic doctrine. He argued that continued coordination among Arab states is essential to maintaining stability and preventing future conflicts in the region.
