Mauritania intellectually encounters Muslim Brotherhood poison

During his speech on Sept. 20, Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel
Aziz said he is taking the necessary procedures against the National Rally for
Reform and Development, being associated with the Muslim Brotherhood.
Following the speech, the Mauritanian government decided to close the
Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated University of Abdullah ibn Yasin and revoke the
license of the Scientist Formation Center, which was hosting leaders from the
Muslim Brotherhood studying at it.
The Mauritanian government adopted a strategic plan to stop the thoughts
and ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood from spreading and raise awareness
against their policies by organizing seminars hosting intellectuals and
decision makers; the government sought to intellectually encounter the
terrorist organization and its activities in Mauritania.
Two days ago, Al-Mauritania for Publishing organized a seminar under the
title “Esoteric movements and their danger on Islam” to shed the light on the
violations committed by the Muslim Brotherhood and those who allege that they
represent Islam and get involved in shedding the blood of innocent people
around the world.
Speaking at the seminar, Isaac al-Kanty, former adviser to the
Mauritanian president, affirmed that the Muslim Brotherhood is considered an
esoteric movement in contrast with the simplicity and popularity of religion.
He also added that the Muslim Brotherhood and other terrorist groups
rely on forming secret military organizations to carryout assassinations on its
behalf, referring to the “black history of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt;” as
they assassinated officers, judges and prime ministers.
Adviser to the Minister of Culture Mohamed Al-Mukhtar Ould Sidi Ahmed,
said the Mauritanian government will continue its plan to fight extremism, in
adherence to higher orders.
Tunisian intellectual Shoukri Banouri, who also gave a speech at the
seminar, said such terrorist organizations have the same goal and aim, while
warning against the threat they pose on religion.
Civilization and history professor at Al Azhar University, Abdelmaksoud
Basha, said encountering terrorist groups and the Muslim Brotherhood through
security measures is not enough, as they have to be encountered intellectually.
He also pointed out that the brotherhood’s ideology does not adhere to
Islam, as they seek the destruction of countries through terrorism.
Basha also added in an interview
with The Reference that the Muslim Brotherhood seeks the destruction of
countries that do not allow their existence by recruiting more militias,
therefore, raising awareness against the danger they pose is necessary.
